9 P.M. NEWSCAST
I always like having team coverage on stories, especially weather stories because the entire viewing area is affected by severe flooding and storms. This was the beginning of weeks of flooding that hit the entire state and killed five people in Missouri. Because my entire A block was local, I didn't have a lot of room for national stories, but I thought my national content was strong, as well.
6 P.M. NEWSCAST
What I thought was going to be an uneventful day turned into one filled with breaking news. KOMU had been covering the story about Carl Debrodie for almost two weeks, and we received word just a few hours before my newscast that his body had been positively identified. This was also the beginning of weeks of flooding that hit the entire state and killed five people in Missouri.

I thought this was a very strong local show with good sound from my reporters and especially liked the cold SOT open. Our local content consisted of two strong health stories, which have a really strong following in Columbia because it has two major hospitals and is the only major trauma center in area.
