Viewers send in photos and videos they take themselves. While monitoring KOMU-TV's website, I have compiled these and asked viewers for more information. I wrote these stories from the information the viewers shared with us:
I also worked on a special segment of KOMU called "Town Square." For the segment, the digital team puts together a viewer survey using SurveyMonkey and then compiles the results into stories for the web and TV. I was a digital producer for segments about a religious freedom resolution that had the longest filibuster in the history of the state, gun regulations in the aftermath of the Orlando shooting, the city's decision to freeze development in downtown Columbia and election issues such as the legalization of marijuana.
